Common Questions
Do you recommend applying for more than two cards per applicant at a time?
I recommend looking at the bigger picture and considering both your short and long term travel goals. Chase credit cards offer some of the best travel perks, but they have a non advertised 5/24 rule. This means any one applicant cannot be approved for more than 5 reward cards in a 24 month period. If you apply blindly for various credit cards, you don't want to limit your earning potential for the long term.
Do you recommend adding people as authorized users on a credit cards?
If you trust them, yes. However, I would caution this way to earn points, because ultimately you are responsible for the bill. A good rule of them is looking at the way the person handles money. If they are careless with theirs, there is a good chance they will be careless with yours as well.
Do you earn commission from promoting certain credit cards?
No, this website is not affiliated with any company that pays me to promote their credit cards. However, there are some affiliate links on the travel blog page and in this course that may pay me a referral reward or fee.
What is the best credit card to get?
This is a question I get all the time. There is no best. There may be a popular one for the moment, but it really depends on your individual lifestyle. Also, credit card companies are always working to improve these cards, so another best may be just around the corner.
Will adding an authorized user improve the authorized users credit score?
It can help. I wouldn't be able to say yes or no, because everyone's credit situation is unique. In general, expert travel hackers suggest adding an authorized user to a credit card with the longest history of on time payments. This may help impact their scores in a positive direction.
